Due to historically low voter turnout in off-cycle elections, our county often consolidates precincts to reduce costs to taxpayers. Combined, our precincts 58 and 62 have 5,162 registered voters. Out of that number, 1, 271 voters came out to have their voices heard. That makes up 24.62% of registered voters for our precincts combined. While this number is low, considering how many registered voters are in both precincts, the fact that it was in double digits is not normal. Typically, results in Montgomery County, TX show that off-cycle elections only turnout single-digits.

November elections tend to give us an advantage but only if we do our part and inform our constituents of the upcoming elections. For example, the off-cycle election this past May 3, 2025 reported only 11,001 ballots cast of 452,309 registered voters in Montgomery County, TX which is a measley 2.43% turnout. You can imagine why they put bonds on those cycles.
